Through special funding made available by The Dundee Community Safety Partnership, Claverhouse in conjunction with Tayside Police and Dundee City Council is currently involved in a Home Security Project.

The Home Securities Project is available free of charge to all residents within the Dundee City boundary and is aimed at improving home security for vulnerable tenants who have been the victim of crime or who may feel insecure in their homes.

The principal householder must be in receipt of any of the following benefits:

• Income Based Support Allowance
• Income Based Job Seeker’s Allowance
• State Retirement Pension
• Council Tax / Housing Benefit
• Disability Working Allowance
• Working Tax Credits

Other residents within Dundee may qualify for the project if they are referred by one of the following:

• City Council Department
• Social Work Department
• Police Departments
• Princes Trust Organisation

An example of works undertaken may include the following:

• Fitting of window locks / handles (If on ground floor)
• Fitting of a strengthening bar and lock keeper to existing door.
• Fitting of a 5 lever Mortise type lock
• Fitting of a slip bolt, door chain, view com and a sealed battery operated smoke alarm.
