Solve It
Goal! That was the verdict of everyone involved with our latest venture, the Solve It course for Lone Parents in Arbroath. The seven week course was based at Arbroath Football Club and mixed motivational training, presentation skills, work experience and practical help. Even before the end of the course, a number of the women had been offered jobs. The graduation ceremony was carried out by John McGlashan, Manager of Arbroath FC. |

Every year, teams from the city's High Schools gather at Dewar House to compete for the Powerpoint Challenge Trophy. This year the honours went to Harris Academy. The team, pictured here with organiser Gordon Black of Menzieshill High, researched, prepared and presented a Powerpoint Presentation on how we are represented by MP's, MSP's and Councillors. Claverhouse has strong links with the Modern Studies departments in the city, and features in the text book used throughout Scottish schools. |

Jim Murphy
Secretary of State for Scotland Jim Murphy MP visited Dewar House on 22nd January to see first hand what Social Enterprise can achieve. In a packed visit, the Secretary of State sat in with some IAP jobseekers, watched the ETF team refurbish furniture, tried his hand out on some forklift training and rounded off with a touch of bike maintenance. Highlight of the visit was, of course, his getting to meet an old school mate - our very own Bob Magill. |
