Claverhouse offers a "one-stop-shop" service to unemployed people requiring a variety of levels of support, training and guidance to gain and
hold sustainable employment. Close liaison with Jobcentre Plus is maintained, with Action Team for Jobs staff being located on-site. Our Resource Room, offering vacancy information, personal
guidance in job search, and all materials required by the jobseeker, forms a central part of the service to all clients. Additionally, all training programmes are designed so as to place the maximum emphasis
on the client gaining suitable and sustainable employment. Currently, Claverhouse offers the following services:
New Deal courses
Claverhouse Group's Resource Room
Full time practical training such as woodwork, construction and engineering under the Training For Work
Initiative, managed by Scottish Enterprise Tayside
Part time, flexible training programmes designed to the needs of particular groups
Work experience/placement opportunities leading to employment
Courses designed for 16 - 18 year olds under Get Ready for Work
The training is of the highest quality and delivered by dedicated and well qualified staff. All certificated courses are validated to nationally recognised standards by the following awarding
bodies:
- SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority)
- EMTA (Engineering & Marine Training Authority)
- City and Guilds
- Health and Safety Executive
Courses are funded by a variety of agencies including the European Social Fund (ESF), Scottish Enterprise Tayside, the local authority under the Social Inclusion Programme (SIP) and
Jobcentre Plus. Over 3,000 clients participate in our training courses every year. Customer satisfaction is high as many of our trainees benefit greatly from the training itself and
progress into work or further education or training. All training for unemployed adults is free of charge and benefits are not affected. Assistance is given with travelling expenses and
