Environmental Projects

Claverhouse continues to be active in the community through its environmental projects currently underway in the SIP areas of Dundee. An "Environmental Task Force" option for 18-24 year olds on the New Deal programme, projects involve such tasks as installing wood and metal fencing, building bin recesses, establishing drying areas and new communal paths, creating safe play areas, and other general building work.

In conjunction with the Leisure and Parks Department of the City Council, the company is currently repairing and reinstating gravestones that have been damaged by the effects of weather and vandalism in cemeteries throughout the city.

As part of the Community Safety Fund set up by Dundee City Council, the company works closely with Tayside Police to provide a quick response to break-ins. This prevents secondary burglary occurring. Included in the measures are reinforced metal door stops, the fitting of 5-lever locks, eye viewers, door chains, and window locks and grilles as appropriate.
